Three to Get Deadly
by Janet Evanovich
Book Review by Amy Coffin
In this Evanovich caper, our favorite jersey bounty hunter is reluctant to handle her assigned case. Stephanie Plum needs to find bail jumper and candy store owner “Uncle Mo.” Neighborhood residents aren’t going to be happy if Stephanie apprehends their beloved friend.

Uncle Mo’s acquaintances are questioned regarding his whereabouts. A simple missed court appearance case turns sour as Stephanie is unintentionally present during a murder in Mo’s darkened store. Is the sweet old candy man involved? The answer is found in Three to Get Deadly.

Evanovich’s Plum character has developed nicely in time for this third installment of the popular series. The tale is filled with witty one-liners, sarcasm and Stephanie’s wacky predicaments that readers have come to love.

Office assistant/wannabe bounty hunter Lulu is a multiple scene stealer with her over-the-top antics and actions. The sexual tension between Stephanie and her ex-flame Morelli becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. Will their repressed feelings affect the case?

Three to Get Deadly is a light, fun mystery. Stephanie’s penchant for getting in over her head paves the way for this amusing tale. The more trouble Ms. Plum finds, the more we love her.
